Hi everybody, please let me know all the laws that need to be learned and thoroughly understood for an HR executive entering the plant. Please suggest what kind of homework should be done before entering the site so that I can draw the attention of the HR officers and make them feel that I'm updated. Please attach any file if you feel it could be useful for me. I hope all of you will do the needful.

I would suggest that you should first go through all the bare texts of all relevant Acts. To mention a few: Industrial Disputes Act, 1948, Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, Contract Labour, 1972, etc. For a detailed study of case law in the ID Act, read the Commentary by Mr. O. P. Malhotra.
