Hi Experts, I’m a student at Christ University, Bangalore, and I’m presently pursuing my Post Graduation in Human Resource Psychology. As part of my research, I would highly appreciate it if you could please give your view on the importance of quality Training and Development in Hospitals in India.

Rising Customer Expectations in Hospitals

The customer expectations and facility requirements in hospitals have tremendously increased. More than just seeking a cure in terms of health, customers look for psychological comfort and satisfaction. Customers walk in with a need to quench their emotional distress with empathy and attention.

Skill Gap Between Nurses and Doctors

There remains a serious skill gap between nurses and doctors, especially in India. When doctors and nurses need to work hand in hand as a team for a successful operation, there still exists a disconnect in terms of communication, technical skills, and even knowledge.

Training Needs for Hospital Staff

Nurses or even the front office staff need to be very well trained in proper communication, hospitality, and empathetic understanding.

Abhishek,

I agree with you on this factor. Especially in India, there is a strong difference in quality and skills between nurses and doctors. To bridge this gap, effective in-house training is very much required.
