Dear Mr. Raju,

Greetings!

There are two types of leave - leave without pay and leave with pay. There are several important subtypes of the latter (leave with pay). The most common types of leave are:

1. Sick Leave - to cover illness or visits to doctors, dentists, etc.
2. Annual Leave - for vacation and necessary personal business.

Leave may not be combined on parts of two calendar days to provide the minimum charge to annual or sick leave. Leave is charged on workdays only; absences on non-work days or holidays are not charged.

Dear John,

I disagree with your statement that leaves are charged only on workdays and not for any holiday. However, if any holiday falls between two leaves, then that holiday is also considered as leave. For instance, if a person is on leave on Saturday and Monday, then Sunday would also be considered as leave, making the total leave 3 and not two.

Regarding the types of leave, they may be as follows:
1. Casual Leave
2. Sick Leave
3. Earned Leave or Annual Leave
4. Privileged Leave

Thanks,
Aditya

Hi John,

Total leaves are 2:
1 casual leave
2 sick leaves

Those in the probation period are eligible for 4 days of casual leave and 2 days of sick leave. If they take more leaves during probation, those additional leaves will be unpaid. After probation, the total casual leaves are 18 and the total sick leaves are 6. This type of leave policy is maintained in my company.

Thanks,
Ankitha
