I'm a software professional, working in the IT industry for 10 years in India. Recently I got an opportunity of employment in Malaysia. But I've some concerns that I need to get cleared before I consider taking the job. There was an issue in my 2nd last company and due to some unfortunate event I got terminated. But I got auto-generated release letter at the time of leaving. And recently, due to this sudden job opportunity, I again contacted the HR team of that company regarding the termination issue. They confirmed the fact that I can use the same release letter for future references.

Now my concerns are:

- Should I explicitly mention about the termination incident before joining?

- If I don't mention, and later it comes to surface after background verification then what can happen with me and my career as per country rule?

Can somebody please clear these issues for me. It'll be a great help. Thanks in advance.

Hello,
You haven't mentioned clearly WHETHER the M'sia job is on the rolls of any Company in India & you are being sent onsite OR you are going on Work Permit on the rolls of a Malaysian Company.
If the later, then there shouldn't be any problem @ your exp level. If the former OR if you are joining the Malaysian Office of any Indian Company, then YES, there could be issues.
How many Companies have you worked in so far--in the 10 yrs? The earlier Companies usually don't get included in any BVs.
All the Best.

Hi Thanks for your reply. I am on my fourth company now. I am joining the European global company in M’sia on permanent pay role. After the termination it is my second company.

Hi I am Bharathi graduated in MBA HR. I worked as recruiter for 2 years and had gap of 6 years since 2013. Now my husband is working in Malaysia. Now I am shifting to Malaysia with dependent visa. How far I could get the job opportunities related to hr or admin field in Malaysia. My hubby says right now many procedures have been changed and Malaysians alone are employable for salary below 10000 RM. Pls somebody throw some light on this.
