Minimum Wage Revision in Delhi

The details you provided are absolutely correct. The minimum wage (MW) rate has been revised by the Labour Office, Government of the NCT of Delhi. However, there are two scenarios regarding the implementation of these rates.

Legal Challenge

This revision has been challenged by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Hon'ble High Court. The next hearing is scheduled for 11th September 2017.

Implementation by Labour Office

Secondly, the Labour Office is insisting on implementing the revised rates for manpower deployed in Delhi Government establishments (through various contractors and sub-contractors). The Labour Office is actively pursuing establishments covered under various regulations (S&E Act, CLA Act, Factory Act, etc.).

Some companies have implemented the revised rates immediately, as the MW is revised every year in April. Although we have not yet implemented it, we plan to do so shortly. Your establishment can also postpone the implementation, but if the Labour Office takes action, you will need to challenge it in court.
