Role of an HR Generalist

Being an HR Generalist, you are able to handle almost every inquiry sent to you, even if it is a technical query that you are unable to solve. You may take the help of an HR specialist from a designated department to provide the solution as well as offer a Human Resource Training Course.

An HR Generalist acts as a bridge between the employer and employees. The fundamental objective is to maintain a pleasant relationship between staff members and the organization. As a Human Resource Generalist, you are accountable for employees' welfare, progress, and endorsement.

You are required to work as an I-Q psychologist to understand the requirements and mental behavior of both parties. You should have enough intelligence to communicate with and tackle each person in the company, from executives to cleaners. After receiving HR Generalist Training in Delhi, an HR Generalist needs to carry out numerous roles and responsibilities such as:

- Searching for talented staff, recruiting staff, handling compensation, training and growth, ensuring security and prosperity, managing employee-employer relationships, and staff retention.
- Ethically providing solutions and implementing them to ensure a healthy work environment.
- Creating timetables and schedules, conducting research, evaluating time and cost issues, and accomplishing transactions.
- Understanding the business of the company.
- Assisting in space planning for the staff.
- Developing HR policies for the benefit of both employees and employers.
- Working jointly with senior managers to drive the performance management system.
- Supporting the HR department for the proper growth and improvement of employees.
- Finding ways to improve policies and procedures.
- Maintaining excellent relationships with employment companies to ensure the selection of bright candidates.
- Updating job requirements in the organization.
- Contacting on the referral of applicants and performing background checks if required by the company.
- Managing employee records and paperwork.
- Attending training and seminars to stay updated on human resource trends, laws, and legislation.
- Providing excellent services to ensure client satisfaction.
- Being able to offer Human Resource Training Courses.
- Involving in other HR duties as provided by directors.
- Drafting and issuing appointment letters, offer letters, confirmation letters, performance bonus letters, promotion and increment letters, relieving letters, experience letters, transfer communication letters, and warning letters.
- Caring for employees' rewards and recognition.

The key to understanding the responsibility and career of an HR Generalist is encapsulated in one word: "general." An HR Generalist performs tasks in every area of the company under HR policy guidelines. You need not specialize in any particular area but should be involved with each HR department. Generally, HR Generalists report to the HR Advisor or Senior Advisor but may also report to the head of all business departments and business units, depending on the organization's structure.

There is an appealing career opportunity for HR Generalists. To become one, you should have a bachelor's degree related to HR and some previous experience in a similar designation to understand the roles and responsibilities.

Hi Nishant,

Students completing their post-graduation in MBA HR (regular) have been getting hired for generalist roles in Delhi/NCR regions for the past 4-5 years, as per my analysis. However, they typically start off with small companies as MNCs based in Noida/Gurgaon prefer candidates with experience.

Wishing you success with Talent Magnifier.

Thanks and Regards,
Akash Sharma
