Please be a bit more specific and share some details about your organization, activities, scope of activity, complexity, and level of management hierarchy, etc. Did you mean the Responsibilities and Authorities matrix or...?

Dear Learnever,
The matrix will cover the recruitment plan, training plan for the year, employee reward program, compensation, and benefits. The organization is a trading organization. It imports machineries from abroad and sells them in the local market.
Thanks,
Saikat

Dear Saikat,
Are you designing the matrix for reporting structure in the HR processes? Generally, matrices are formed when the process requires multi-level decision-making, such as recruitment targets being given by the business heads. The HR head might allocate a part of the budget and strategize the recruitment. However, the recruitment executives would report to the HR head and, in a dotted line, to the business heads. This particularly happens when the leaders are geographically located. The recruitment executive might share the recruitment tracker with the HR head and the business unit head. The executive might take directions from his supervisors and support from the business units to incorporate the plans.
Please do share what the operating model is for your organization.

Dear Ms. (Cite Contribution),
You are right, the matrix is for reporting purposes. There are several business units in different locations. The Corporate Office monitors the overall activities of the business units. Therefore, the matrix is required to compare the HR activities with the Annual Business Plan.
I hope I have provided you with a clear picture as desired by you.

We know that the HR matrix varies among different companies. If you truly need help from others, you can contact some of them via email. Provide your company information, discuss your needs, verify the details multiple times, and then you'll have a well-structured HR matrix.
