Respected Members,
I am working as an HR Generalist with an IT company of 50 employees where most of the time I need to focus on hiring because I am the only HR personnel in the company. I am not provided with any job portal or consultant; the only hiring tools available are LinkedIn and free job posting websites, where I usually receive very few or irrelevant resumes. Currently, I have a crucial position to fill, but the management is hesitant to allocate resources for this purpose. I have tried attracting employees through references with lucrative bonuses, but this approach has not been successful. Despite my extensive experience in recruitment, I am feeling helpless.
Please guide!

Dear Rekha, I understand your recruitment challenges. Nevertheless, even before recruitment, you need to find a creative solution to convince management of the importance of subscriptions to the services provided by the job portals. As such, yours is an unbranded company. With stalwarts of your industry in the fray, getting quality candidates is a challenge. To reduce the cost of recruitment, if your management wishes to rely on secondary means of recruitment like LinkedIn, you will not get quality candidates. Relying on secondary means narrows your choice of candidates.
Maybe management has told you that recruiting the right candidates is the first step in maintaining the quality of the products/services or even customer satisfaction. Have you measured the cost of poor recruitment? Please try measuring it to augment your arguments.
Thanks,

upload J.D of the position to indeed.com with "free posting" option and you might get relevant profiles
Thank you, Mr. Divekar, for your suggestion.
@Rambabu G: I have already posted on Indeed but received very few and irrelevant responses.
@Aniket Pathak: I have invited employee referrals and free consultancies (charges payment from candidate) for the position. Even candidates do not pay the consultancy because they have ample options. Newspaper ads don't work well when we are hiring experienced candidates.

Dear Rekha, I can relate to your situation and shall advise from my experience that free postings and searches work; however, they have their own limitations. Not all skills are easily available; certain skills are difficult to be found through these portals, and most of them are active job-seekers. One also requires a lot of time and effort to chase those candidates.
If you have tried all your free sources, then it is time that you persuade your management to utilize the skill of a consultant/headhunter. You have to present them with a list of why it is efficient to use one. As you mentioned, it is a crucial role that you are trying to fill. Is it worth waiting for another month or so to get a free hire, or is it better to pay a small amount and get someone on board who would add to the organization's revenue? If the management is still ready to wait, I don't think it is a crucial role.
Also, you can negotiate the charges and payment terms with the recruitment consultants to bring down the cost.
Wish you luck in closing the position.

I also face Rekha situation, but I keep on trying and posting on different portals and other free job posts. If you don't mind, you can use Nithra Jobs, Try, etc. apps; these app developers provide wonderful, filtered candidates.
