I would say profession of HR is an ever-ending learning process. A HR professional of less than 1 year experience can accept the salary straight offered by the company. A HR professional of 2-3 years may go for 10%-15% increase in salary. Those who have 3-5 years can go for 20-25% and so on...

Hi surabhi,
I am a fresher and i am still waiting to get placed..
But from long time I am following the news related to this..and I just like to suggest
that plz compare the companies...on the basis of position of companies & your profile..
and as far as your hike will concern just give them a figure which is some what more than the least hike you wanted...and after that you can negotiate it further...if you will do that then..their problem of knowing a figure frm you will be solved..and will definately get a chance to negotiate..tc

Hi Surabhi,
The percentage of increase can be an amount, which you would arrive at after considering the nature of position, responsibilities, place of work and other factors of direct interest. Any how a normal and standard increase of 15 to 25 percentage should be quoted.
You will get more inputs on this query from our friends and can reach at a final conclusion.
All the best

I think you shouls put your expectations as per market trends and also look for company profile and if company is asking you should say, this will clarify their intensions about hiring and you can also do a bit negotiation

Dear Tittli,

Be Honest In Your Reply,

Can You Estimate What Salary Every One Here Replying On This Issue Should Be Eligible For?

Do You Have Standard Answer For Such Question?

20% 10% 30% Recommending Salary Increase...

What Is Basis Of Such Sweeping Statement?
DO WE EXPECT SUCH GENERIC REPLY FROM QUALIFIED HR PROFESSIONAL WHO DOES NOT KNOW WHAT FACTORS DRIVES SALARY.

Many Factors Which Determines The Salary In Particular Organization You Cannot Just Make General Comments And Defend It.

AS EXPERT IN HR WE ARE EXPECTED TO MAKE COMMENTS WHICH ARE TECHNICALLY CORRECT AND DEFENDABLE.....

This Shows Not Only Answers Posted Are Wrong But Question Posted Itself Is Also Wrong.

If Your Questions Is Wrong You Are Bound To Get Wrong Answers...

You Inexperience People Just Makes Lot Of Mess Of The Things Which You Not Knowledgable....but Do Believe And Dfend Whatever You Believe Is Correct But You Are Misinforming Your Own Fraternity....if They Are Inexperience It Become Gossip And For Us Farce..........
