hi,
I believe recognition is the biggest motivation. So there are many 'employee recognition programs' run by a company like incentives, rewards, mention in newsletters, magazines etc. But are they really fulfilling the purpose? Are deserving employees getting recognition for their nice work?
In my organization there is less transparency about these programs. People get selected on what basis is beyond my comprehension.
What do you think about these programs and how well these programs doing in your organization??

In a day when most people are only with a company 3-5 years, I believe an employee recognition program based upon one's years of service to be highly effective. Recognition in this manor not only shows the appreciation of the company towards its senior employees, but also provides a good example of what the younger, less senior employees should strive for. People that have spent 5, 10, 15, 20 years with a company...WOW. They deserve some recognition and praise. After all...it takes less money to keep on a good employee than it does to constantly hire and train new employees.
