Ms. Hema,

HR policies would vary from one organization to another. Could you please explain the kind of policy you are working with? It would be very difficult to set up a whole HR policy instantly. Please let me know your industry and business, and what major issues you are facing for which you need HR policies. From this, you can derive your preferences.

Hi Hema,

HR policies vary from company to company in some aspects, but not in all. Therefore, please let us know the strength of your organization and the following details. I think we can suggest the best by looking at that:

a) Number of employees
b) Skilled and non-skilled
c) Nature of the organization
d) Whether it includes recruitment (few companies outsource this), training, and Personal Department functions such as leave calculations, salary calculations (PF + ESI), and whether you have gratuity or any other retirement schemes.
e) Entry system and exit system - I mean opening and closing hours of the office, whether there is any strict compliance if employees do not arrive on time.

If you let us know all this, I'm sure we can help you in designing a simple HR Policy.

Cheers,
Ajay

Hi Friend,

I'm a new member. Can you please suggest me regarding one little problem? I am working with a construction company in an HR department. We have implemented a policy regarding in-out timings. Our office timings start from 9:30 in the morning with a grace time of 10 minutes extra, i.e., we mark late from 9:40 am onwards. However, a few employees are consistently late in arriving. These employees arrive at 10 am and onwards. I have asked them if they have any genuine problems, they should take permission to arrive late at the office up to a particular time.

They are not cooperating with me. I'm newly joined here, maybe that's why they are doing so. Can you please suggest me regarding the matter?

Dear Prince,

Please use the search tab available in this community to find the topic you posted about, as it has been discussed many times on this site. If you still have doubts, feel free to post them. When asking questions like these, provide details such as Industry Type, Number of Employees, etc.

Since you mentioned that your company is a MNC, don't you have branches in other parts of the globe? If so, you should start by integrating those locations into your company accordingly. :)

Hi,

Good day!

What type of company is yours? Try to understand the process they are currently following and identify the gaps. It would be beneficial for you to frame the policies accordingly. For example:
- Leave Policy
- Recruitment Policy, etc.

I have attached sample policies that were shared by a member of citehr, but you need to understand whether these policies will be suitable for your company. Also, please go through the link [Sample Human Resources Policies, Checklists, Sample Forms, and Sample Procedures](http://humanresources.about.com/od/policysamples/a/policy_samples.htm).

Dear Mr.Rafiulla, Nice of you to share these two documents which would surely benifit those who are in the process of framing / devising similar documents for their organizations, as good guidelines.

Hi Dear,

HR is a huge department where the number of personnel is less, and job responsibility is wide. Therefore, HR policies encompass everything, whether it's day-to-day office work. Can you tell me what type of HR policies you are looking for - HRM or HRD?

Please note, you may start with:

Recruitment Plans

1. Induction & Training Process
2. Performance Management System
3. Administration, IR & Compliance, etc.

Also, note that you may create a specimen copy of each to be followed in the future.
