TQM and Six Sigma are basically the same; they are both quality improvement tools. TQM evolved earlier than Six Sigma, with the latter only emerging sometime in the 80s. There's a lot of material on the internet about these two subject matters. There is even a site that is entirely focused on Six Sigma.

TQM is more broad-based as an improvement initiative, tackling the easier improvements. SS is statistically based, focusing on variation reduction.
