Amendment of PF Proposal for Tax Applicability
Is the amendment of the PF proposal for tax (TDS) applicability on PF withdrawal amounts within 5 years of service applicable? If yes, what is the limit for relief from tax? Is it 30,000 or 50,000?
Maternity Benefit Act, 1961
Has the new proposal of the Maternity Benefit Act, 1961, for 26 weeks of leave been enacted? If yes, from which date has it commenced?
Bonus Act, 1965 Amendment
Is the new amendment of the Bonus Act, 1965, enacted? If yes, what is the date of commencement?
Gratuity Act, 1972
Should "Sunday and Holiday" be counted for calculating the 240 working days for the purpose of completing a year under the Gratuity Act, 1972?
Please guide me appropriately.

As per my knowledge, the answers are as follows:
1. The applicability of Income Tax on PF withdrawal amounts within 5 years of service is well defined under the Act. It will be applicable as per your income slab for the financial year.
2. The proposal of the Maternity Benefit Act 1961 for 26 weeks of leave has been passed, but so far, state governments have not notified it, and it is still under process.
3. The Payment of Bonus Act 1965 has been amended and notified. Please refer to your related state circular.
4. Now this Act has been amended, and the calculation of days has no meaning. After completion of 5 years, less than six months is considered as none, but more than six months is considered equal to a year.
