Hi,
I would like to know what the ideal wages are for an office boy in an IT company. His working hours are 9 hours per day, and he has weekends off. His work mainly comprises cleaning and taking care of small errands.
Please put forward your suggestions.

Dear MBhandari,
Welcome to CiteHR.com!
I am delighted to see that you are diligently searching for benchmark salaries for an Office Boy in your company. This particular class of employees is often exploited and paid minimum wages in certain companies.
Considering that the Office Boy will be tasked with operating photocopy machines, fax machines, coffee machines, as well as dealing with banks and offices while delivering and receiving documents in the future, I recommend that you set the salary "above the minimum wages for skilled workers." The exact amount above the minimum wage will depend on various factors. It is important to note that the organized sector should take the lead in this regard, rather than simply adhering to the minimum rates set by the government.
Warm regards.

Dear Member,
If your unit is in Haryana State, then your offer is less than the minimum wages fixed for unskilled workers. Here, it is Rs. 4348.21 per month. Therefore, first, see where your establishment is situated and then fix the wages of this boy at least more than the minimum wages fixed by the appropriate Govt.
With Regards,
R.N.Khola
Thank you for the input, Sir! Do you think Rs. 4000 is good enough?
