Hi, 1.5 years ago, I joined a competitive company after leaving my previous job. My previous company let me go without taking any legal action against me. Now, I am in the process of joining a new company. Will this affect my background check?

I have all my salary slips, increment letters, EPF details, and everything else they may require. Please provide information.

Hi, you had absconded from your ex-employer's company 1.5 years ago and joined their competitor's company, and no legal action was initiated by your past employer. Now, you are planning to accept another new offer and want to know if there will be any impact during the background verification process. Is this your question?

Non-Compete Agreement

Have you signed any non-compete agreement with your past employer? In the absence of one, your ex-employer will not be able to take legal action for joining a competitor's company. However, disciplinary action for unauthorized absence followed by termination is still possible.

Background Verification

During the background verification check, your ex-employer will share the fact that you had absconded, and you will need to justify why you left without serving the notice period.
