Hi all, I am Manpreet, and I have been appointed as HR in the manufacturing industry. Please help me, as I have framed the HR policies in this company, but I don't know how to implement them so that everyone follows the policies. The policies are framed, but there is no implementation.

How to Implement HR Policies Effectively

Please tell me how to implement these policies strictly in the company so that everyone has a sense of accountability for not obeying the policies. Please give me an effective solution to this problem.

Dear Manpreet, You have joined HR in what capacity? What is your designation? Who signed the policies when you made them? How were these circulated? Are some of the staff educated on the policies? Can you provide a list of the policies? Is there buy-in from leadership for the policies?

Education on Policies

Education on policies is best done during induction training. For staff who are already working, their HODs are responsible for educating them on the policies. When releasing a new policy, a meeting with all HODs should be called to explain why the particular policy is being implemented. It must be signed by the Managing Director or another top authority in the organization.

Thank you, Mr. Dinesh, for the quick reply. I have been appointed as an HR Executive, and I am new to the HR profile. Before me, the company had two employees in HR who framed the policies and had them signed by the MD. These policies were circulated from HODs to workers, but the old employees in the company do not strictly adhere to them. These policies are meant for everyone, including new hires and existing employees, but the old employees seem disinterested. I am pondering how to encourage them to follow the policies as they are applicable to all.
