Dear Senior( IR Experts),
I m Working in a manufacturing setup and here workers are not much educated as a result they don't understand any company policies, notices etc. they are continuously putting their demands in front of management which management is unable to fulfill because company policy does not allow to fulfill these demands of workers, trade union people are also not supporting us. Workers are doing illegal strikes and gherao.
Kindly give me your suggestions so that i can resolve these matters,
Also tell what legal action i can take against these people.
regards

Hi Sonu,

I think if such situation is arising in your organisation, management needs to take some serious steps for it.

First of all, please let us know, wherther there is a recognized union or not? if yes, try to call the representatives of the union and try to communicate what are the exact policies / decisions of your management. Also try to convince them that if such policies are being communicated to union representatives, it is supposed to be diluted to the downline (i.e. all workers who are unde the union) and representatives must convey those policies to workers. In such case, still union representatives are not trying to convey the same to workers and workers are directly arguing with you, you have the right to issue the show cause notices or take suitable disciplinary actions against them. Please refer Industrial Dispute Act for more details.

Also relook into the policies / decisions taken by management and try to suggest its pro & cons. If needed, try to propose some alternate solutions/ options, so that such IR issues will not come.

I hope you could try for some of above remadies.

Regards,

Atul Malve
