Dear all senior,
I am working in the admin department for last 10 years with a proprietorship compamy in kolkata. Recently company is not able to grab business adequately as expected and as a result of that willing to reduce workforce. Management is asking (pressurising) staffs (not necessarily to marketing staffs) to submit resignation letter effective one month later date as one month notice.and settling. It is unfortunate that management is pressuring mostly such employees those doesn't have any control over marketing and on the other hand offering fantastic increment to the markrting team. Can anybody highlight any area to stop this practice.

Asru.J: Honestly, you can’t do anything about it. The practice/trend will continue and the only suggestion I can give you is to look at another role/job.

Hi Asru,
Your employer intends to retrench staff in view of falling work volume.Also they intend to continue marketing staff.To escape retrenchment proceedings & liabilities as laid down in Industrial Disputes Act,they are pressuring you people to submit resignation letters.their such act is totally illegal.Either they should prepare a separation scheme with attractive benefits and give options to employees whom they want to remove. OR if there is any employees union or a group of employees may approach to Asstt./Dy Labour Commisssioner of the area where company's office is located and file a written complaint under ID Act.
