I am working in a company where I was in a Technician post. I have to travel from one location to another customer location. Now, I have received an offer as an In-Shop Demonstrator in my current location, and I will not have to travel as much. I asked my previous company manager about this, and he informed me that there is no future in sales. He mentioned that I would have to meet targets and face more pressure. If I do not meet my targets, I will be fired from the job, and even my salary will be delayed if I cannot achieve the targets. Please help me decide what to choose.

Dear friend,

If you were working as a technician, then it was supposed to be a technical job. Why do you wish to move out to a non-technical job? Acquiring mastery will open further job avenues; however, it may not be the case for a non-technical job. Therefore, take the call judiciously. If travel is a tedious part of your job, then you may look for a technical job where travel is limited or almost nil.

Thanks,
