Basic Requirements for Occupying Workspace

Before occupying any workspace or premises where any business activity is to be carried out, it is essential to seek and secure a valid permit. This includes:

1. Space on rent or on a self-ownership basis with all applicable permissions.
2. The establishment certificate applied for and issued by the competent authority under the Shops & Establishment Act and the rules of the concerned state/province of the Indian Union after paying/depositing the prescribed fees for a fixed term/period, renewable upon the expiry of the sanctioned period.

The establishment certificate issued by the authority must be prominently displayed on the premises' notice board.
