As we all know, smoking in public places has been banned in India since 2nd October 2008. I am attaching the Prohibition of Smoking in Public Places Rules 2008 along with a PPT for your ready reference. Since it is applicable to all factories and offices as well, we have to ensure compliance with the same.

Thanks

Regards

Thanks for the update. All of them are aware of this announcement, but most of them haven't seen any notification like the one shared by you.

Quitting Smoking

Quitting smoking is not easy, but you can do it. To have the best chance of quitting and staying quit, you need to know what you're up against, what your options are, and where to go for help. Finally, it has come against the law. At least just follow the law, Mr./Ms. It's made for our and public safety.

Thanks for the presentation also, Mr. PCA. Keep on going.

Thank you, Mr. Agrawal, for sharing the Prohibition of Smoking Act and Presentation with our members at the right time on the eve of Gandhi Jayanthi. As pointed out by Mr. Pon, it cannot be implemented 100% because almost all departments have some smokers within them. If the management restricts smoking in the government office, the concerned staff will immediately go outside the premises to smoke. There, you cannot restrict the smokers. Another perspective is that work will be hampered as the smokers are asked to go out for smoking.

Dear Mr. Pon,

Try to restrict smoking as it will affect the smoker and their near and dear ones too. Chewing tobacco will affect the person chewing only, but the smoke will endanger the lives of the friends and relatives living nearby. Instead of smoking every hour, try to increase the time period. Whenever you feel like smoking, have some toffee or engage yourself in some other work or spend time with friends.

Wishing you a smoke-free healthy lifestyle.
