If we engage a worker on his day off, will we have to pay him overtime for that day, compensatory off, or both?

Engaging Workers on National Holidays

Another question is if we operate the factory or engage some workers in the manufacturing process on national holidays, do we need to obtain permission from the appropriate government authority to carry out the process, or can we simply pay those workers triple the rate of overtime for that day?

Thank you.

Working on Weekly Offs and National Holidays

When you require a worker to work on a weekly off, you can grant them a holiday within three days following the said weekly off, and you need not pay overtime. The same applies to National Holidays. In either case, you need to inform the Inspector of Factories and obtain their permission.

In my viewpoint, if a workman is engaged for work during his day off or holiday, he should be compensated by payment of overtime, including compensatory time off. Your valuable comments on this matter are invited.
