Hi seniors, we have a biometric attendance system, but one of the biometric attendance reader machines (for which we paid Rs. 18,000) is not working. Unfortunately, we are relying on manual attendance only. The person who installed this attendance system is not cooperating with me properly. He just sits in his office and suggests everything over the phone. Several times, I have asked him to visit, but he is not willing to do so. The reasons he gives are:

1. No guarantee was promised at the time of installation of the product.
2. We did not take an AMC.
3. He suggests asking all doubts to the staff present during the product demo.

I am fed up with his answers. My boss is pressurizing me to start the biometric attendance system immediately. He is ready to pay for regular service/AMC. At the same time, I am planning to stop the service from the person mentioned above. Please guide me on the same.

Thank you.

Biometric Attendance System

From the details you have furnished about the present individual/firm that installed the system, the conduct of the people in charge of the system does not appear to be customer-friendly but, on the other hand, reactive. They should have convinced you about the need to take AMC and should have shown some proactive response if they really have any business sense. On the other hand, they appear to resort to arm-twisting tactics and try to make the most out of the helplessness of others. How can anyone have a lasting professional or business relationship with such people, especially in the area of electronic gadgets which develop technical snags off and on? It is better to look for a prudent alternative to the present one.

  • Respected Seniors,

We are in the development business. We need to know what documents need to be maintained with regard to employees as per the labor department requirements. Would like to know if it is mandatory to maintain a manual attendance register when we have the biometric attendance system. Please guide.

Good morning, this is not only your problem; you are not an exception. Be very careful while choosing the vendors; many are small-timers. Call the gentleman and tell him you are reporting this to the police for fraud conditions. Also, check if your installation or connectivity has any issues and if they are in line with the order. A fraud report will help you recover the money paid. These systems are rugged; they do not easily fail.

Dear, you may cancel the deal with them and take back the deal amount. As we have adopted Smart-finger, you may also go for it. It's quite good. First, get details of that.
