Mr. Ajay,
You have to approach the RPFC through your employer with the revised Form 2 and your last year's Form 23, your payslip, and a bona fide record for your name proof.

Among all the above replies, Mr. Saravanan is right and close to the point regarding the change in the PF account. Additionally, the employer has to reissue Form-5 in the new name of the employee seeking the change.

Hi All,
My name also has the incorrect spelling in the PF account. The PF account was created by the company, and the name got misspelled. Should the company be submitting on behalf of the employee for name correction, or does the employee have to submit it themselves? I mean, can I ask our HR department to get it rectified, or do I have to get it done on my own? Please clarify.

Ashish

All those who wish to change their names in the PF, there are 2 simple options that I use:
1) A joint declaration letter, mentioning the wrong details and the correct details, and also the employee will be required to sign as well as the employer. (Note: correction to be done as per Aadhaar card)
2) EPFO has recently implemented in the employee PF account an option to change the basic details as per Aadhaar card. Therefore, your PF account needs to be activated.
If you require any further assistance, message me.
