Hello Everyone, Good day to all! I am a new training manager for one of the hospitality firms and I was wondering if anyone could help me with the following to be effective at strategic planning training:
Preparation/Requirements - What I need to do or gather to get started
Resources - Research materials
Activities - For managers
I am hoping for positive replies. Many thanks!

Conducting strategic planning is the responsibility of your top management. Teaching individuals about strategic planning is one aspect, while ensuring that managers understand how their company has implemented strategic planning is another. Therefore, I recommend that you approach your top management or strategic planning department to organize training sessions on strategic planning.
Key Tools of Strategic Planning
Key tools of strategic planning include environmental analysis, organizational analysis utilizing SWOT analysis, Michael Porter's 5 Forces, McKinsey's 7S framework, and more.
A crucial part of this training should focus on distinguishing between operational efficiency and strategy. These two concepts are distinct, yet operational efficiency is often confused with strategy.
While there is a wealth of books and online resources available on strategic planning, the key lies in customizing the content to suit your specific needs.
This training module is designed for experienced managers, and it's important to note that seniority does not always equate to maturity.
