Dear all,
I am in the field of FMCG manufacturing company handling logistics activities. I take care of commercial activities such as creating invoices, checking stocks, following up on purchase orders, assisting with the purchase function when required, and liaising with clients for courier and cargo-related matters.
My work experience includes 2 years as a medical representative (my first job), 2 years in the admin department, and 6 years in commercial activities including purchasing and managing the store, among other responsibilities.
Due to family issues, I had to take a break in the last 2 years and stayed at home without being employed. Recently, I joined an EMS company as a Supply Chain Coordinator, leveraging my background in electronics. Although I am content with the new company and the role, as they are yet to begin sales activities, I face a challenge due to the gap in my work history. I struggle to recall certain export-related rules and regulations, so I dedicate time daily to browse and refresh my knowledge of commercial details to ensure I am well-informed.
My primary concern is feeling behind in today's competitive landscape. I find it challenging to adapt to reporting to individuals of a similar age, as in my previous roles, I reported to more senior professionals. This shift has triggered feelings of inferiority and communication difficulties. I sometimes come across as harsh towards my younger colleagues, treating some unfairly as juniors, even though they hold similar positions. While I acknowledge my superior knowledge and experience, my newness in the company leads to different treatment. At times, my actions may reflect a habit of giving orders based on my experience.
I seek advice from my seniors and advisors on how to address these challenges. I am considering taking a course as part of the solution but am uncertain about the right approach.
Please help me out.

I would like to highlight certain points when we read a book from any country or any language:
1) Try to understand the concept.
2) Try to use the methodology and not the situation.
3) Try to change the character to suit our culture and circumstances while still keeping the smartness and understanding alive.
Just do these acts, and you'll find all the books pretty useful regardless of language, culture, or region. Waste time on utilizing concepts and not on how it will suit our way of doing things. We do have a proverb in Hindi, "AAM KHANE SE MATLAB RAKHO NA KI GUTLI GINNE SE."
