Hello Professionals :)

I want help regarding writing a regret/rejection letter to the interviewer. I attended an interview last week and was selected for an unattractive package. I really like the company (bank) and see potential for growth, but after I informed them of my expected salary, they still offered a lesser salary in the offer letter, the same as what I currently earn.

I wish to write them a thank you/regret letter to inform them of my decision to decline the offer. Please assist me with a standard format or a simple letter to communicate my decision to decline.

Thanks,

Reply to Offer of Employment

Dear Sir/Madam,

I had attended an interview for the post of _____ on ______ (date). I have been offered employment for this post via your letter No ____ dated _____.

Attending the interview for this post was a great experience. The quality of the questions was good, and it was a healthy intellectual exchange. I thank you for giving me the offer to join your esteemed company.

Considering the market situation vis-a-vis my career aspirations, I have decided to continue my employment with my current employers. Therefore, I request you to go ahead and select a better candidate for this post.

I regret my inability to join _____ (name of the company); nevertheless, I wish the company to grow by leaps and bounds in the future.

Warm regards,

(your signature)

Dear Dinesh, that's a wonderful format. Thank you so much for replying to me and helping me. One thing I did not mention is the desire to have a better candidate. I wished them all the best, though. Thank you so much for the help; I really appreciate it.

Regards,
