Loss to Indian Companies in the Global Slowdown

The global slowdown has hit the Indian economy very hard. The impact is significant on Indian companies, with many experiencing losses due to the global and domestic slowdown. Companies have been implementing cost-cutting measures to maintain their financial stability during this period of global economic downturn. Some companies have reduced production levels in response to the decrease in demand for their products.

Dear Friend,

I appreciate your valuable posting. In relation to this, I need to add certain points:

A. Companies, Inc.'s having their major part of profits shared markets from the USA and Europe have a major impact. Since their major international clients are from these two locations.

B. We Indians are concerned but not at the level of international meltdown because we are in the habit of rationing for an advance or say for a month. This is of less concern.

C. The meltdown has affected certain service sectors like Aviation, etc. This is correlated with international oil prices, as India is not a major part of oil-producing countries.

Thank you.

Sachin,

My apologies for not posting anything for a long time. The global meltdown has had a huge impact on the Indian economy. India has not been one of the major producers of crude oil in the world, but the consumption of oil in India is substantial. Therefore, it would be a big deal for the country to keep its growth intact.

The companies have been severely affected, and that is the ultimate consequence. Companies have been adopting cost-cutting measures, and companies like TCS have reported a loss of millions of dollars due to currency fluctuations, as disclosed in its 3rd-quarter result because of fluctuations in currency rates.

I hope the coming year will be a good time for India, and the government will succeed in mitigating the major impact of the global meltdown on the economy.
