Dear Friends,
Im an Automation engineer with 7years of rich experience, recently i attended a interview with a Big MNC and cleared all the rounds.
During the negotiation i asked for 50% increase in the current CTC.
But the HR people are telling that industry standard is 30% hike only.
so we can give 30% hike on your current CTC.
My query in this is, for a person of 7yrs experience also they are giving 30% hike, and a person of 2yrs experience also they are giving 30% hike only.
Is this a justified hike??
I dont know, whether the fault is mine.
Please help me to understand whether my views are correct or not?
Thank you in advance.

Dear Jack Hammer,
Percentage of hike depends upon the company policy. As I know if company has proposed for 30% of hike its good to accept but check your total earning and deduction part.
30% of hike on my salary is not same with you, so never compare with any one if we deserve the best we will be rewarded.
Better luck

Hi
The Percentage of Hike is normally 30% as as the logic is it is good enough to be more than any increment you may be getting in your present employment. Your last increment date is also considered here. It has nothing to do with your experience as a logic.
Secondly it is a demand and supply issue. If you (or your skill set) are desperately needed (by your new employer), the rule can be overlooked.
Third, Your revised salary is not supposed to create disruptions in their existing structure. Hence your salary will be on par with the salary levels of existing employees of your new employer, subject to their assessment and grading of your past experience ( not in their environment).
Hope it throws light on the issue !!

% hike differs from org to org. For the right candidate, they even double the CTC. It all depends on the type of biz, demand-supply gap, technical competence, etc, etc. It is your choice to accept the hike or not.
