Dear Yash,
I completely agree with you. I have started discussing with my employees with regards to sodexo coupons and what i found was that it cannot be beneficial to all of my employees. And you are true to the part that in India MRP prices are way too higher than the actual and hence using the meal coupons in retail outlet will not be economical to the employees.
Now if i had a common canteen for my employees i would rather think about it but Sodexo is a bigger thing. And above all employee age distribution in my company is really to the extremes so younger generation will have a positive view about it but the older generation will not. Plus the working culture here totally different as we have full time and part time employees too.

Dear Prachi,
I am working with a MNC and our company is providing the Sodexo passes to employees as a part of salary and to facilitate the employees for tax benefits.Sedexo passes are manadatory in our organisation as a HR policy. But it is my experiance that majority of employees feel it as an imposed policy. Their logic behind this is that once they recieve the sodexo passes they are bound to use that much of amount for buying food products whereas the monthly expences are much lesser . Secondly in some areas the shops are also not available for sodexo passes exceptance. I think it should be optional for the employees to avail this facility.

Thanks Sanjay for sharing your views on the topic. I do agree that this should be an optional part for the employees as i cant impose on my employees to spend a particular amount of their salary on something which they might not be willing to spend.
