1. Milling-round: Ask employees to go round and round meeting co-employees. suddenly stop everyone and ask them to know more about the person who is exactly opposite to him / her or to the right or left of him / her and ask randomly, so that they tell abt the other person, to the entire croud, as many details as possible.. This creates an atmosphere of fun and togetherness.. Personally, employees get to know each other better...

2. Have an anchor to the events. he directs the employees and tests their presence of mind by putting questions that require common sense..

3. anchor sings a particular song, with different tune.. ask employees to identify the actual lyrics to that tune.

4. have some games for couples (Ramp Walk, Dance / Acting / Role Play)

5. have some games exclusively for singles (something to raise their competitive spirits).

6. May be some games for children could be added (balloon dancing, magic show, etc).

7. Dance, Mimicry, Mono-acting, Dumb-charades, etc... this will take enough time of the party..

Happy Partying..

Dear Member
Invite family persons and their kids to workplace, organize some interesting games and programmes and reward them. Childrens are happpy with their parents too. Take Photographs and it will become sweet memory of their life and you personally touch their feelings and keep them happy. Don't spend too much money on event management.:confused::confused:

Hi Medha,
You could go for a "Food Festival", have each department plan some varieties to be made which does not have the cooking involved in the office, the departments need to prepare everything in thier department. This needs to be done in a stipulated time frame. You can select one or 2 judges who will visit each dept and select the winner.
I had arranged such an event few months back as one of our Saturday activities and the food festival happened to be the best one. It had every one involved in the office and this activity can last for 3-4 hours along with people eating what they have prepared and having music On in thier departments while they are preparing.

Meera.

Medha,
Keeping in mind the recent tragic attacks, you can celebrate the diversity of our nation which carries on despite many setbacks, by having a unity in diversity theme for your party.
  • Have everyone come in their ethnic costumes - maybe you can give out a small prize for the person who dresses in the most authentic way
  • At least a week prior to the party, ask them to come up with games that are played from their region of the country (not just the usual charades and antakshari). You can then select all those games that do not take too much time and make the necessary arrangements for them
  • While you celebrate the new year, you could ask people to remember the less fortunate in our country and donate or at least pledge to help one such person next year - support a child's education, help a weaver or rural artisan by buying their product, etc.
  • During lunch or dinner, when people are busy eating, maybe you can volunteers to disclose their new years resolutions - the best voted one gets a small prize
Hope you have a great celebration. Please remind people to not drink and drive.
