I am doing my MBA through distance mode. I have an opportunity to do a project in HSBC, but I am not in a position to decide on the current hot topic that would be helpful to me and the company. This decision will impact my future career as I also plan to pursue SAP in HR.
Currently, I am working at HSBC Call Center as a Customer Support Executive. The company has provided me with an opportunity to work on an HR project. Based on my performance in this project, they will consider offering me a placement in HR in the future.

You can choose a topic like Performance Appraisal as a tool for development. You can cover topics like what is performance appraisal system being followed by the company. What are the loopholes in the present system? You can use a survey form to conduct a survey in the company and ask for employee suggestions for improvement. Give your final report on how the present system can be improved. For example, Performance Appraisal can be made a bi-yearly exercise rather than a yearly routine so that the advantage of timely remedial action is not lost.

Thank you for replying. In HSBC, appraisals are done twice a year. However, performance appraisal seems to be an old topic. I am not denying your suggestion but just sharing my opinion. There is not much profit that the company will gain from it. The projects I work on should give the company some profit, which will help me in my career as well as benefit the company.
