Re: Overtime
i want to ask resp. Harikrishan that while calculating overtime what will be the definition of wages or salary. I mean to say will it be calculated on gross emoluments like basic+da+hra+special allowance etc.this is very much clear that overtime amount paid in double the wages.

Dear Mr. Nasir,
In your calculation, u take 30 days per month. But as per my knowledge, it'll be 26 days per month. "Weekly off"- will not be calculated in this calculation and Overtime rate will be twice of general hourly rate. So, if I'm not wrong actual calculation will be :
OT will be : 9000/(26*8)=43.00X2=Rs.86/hr.

Dear Mr.Mukesh
Over time is a legal right and cannot be based on company's policy. It depends on the section/clause relating to rate of over time wages contained in the law applicable to the establishment concerned. When you make a posting in web site please ensure that what you say is correct.
