Hi, Currently, I am working in an MNC for the past 4 years. Before that, I worked in another MNC for 1 year but was not relieved properly. Even though I served the notice period and completed the exit formalities, I have been terminated.

Employment History Dilemma

Now, I want to search again. I am confused about whether to show that 1-year previous employment. Can you please suggest if I should go ahead with 4 years + 1 year of experience? Will the new employer accept my 1-year past experience without a relieving letter? I have all payslips, Form 16, service certificate, and resignation mail from the previous employer except for the relieving letter.

Thank you.

If you don't show one year of experience, you may need to explain the gap. If you are listed as terminated, you will need to explain the reasons in a cogent manner to your current employer. New employers, if convinced, can hire you without a relieving letter.
