Mr Suhas
Wage ceiling under P of W Act is already Rs 18000/-w.e.f 9/12.The same under EC Act is already Rs8000/pm.But what you mentioned as proposed amendment is not matching with these facts.

Supplement to what Varghese has written, I would like to show some more amendments taken place already:
Wage ceiling u/s 2(s) of ID Act is Rs 10000.
Wage ceiling under Bonus Act is Rs 10000 and those drawing upto Rs 10000 are eligible to get bonus. Bonus, however, will however be calculated on a maximum salary of Rs 3500 (earlier it was Rs 2500)
Casual workers are covered under Employees (Workmen's) Compensation Act
Minimum compensation for death cases has been fixed at Rs 120000 and that for total disablement is Rs 140000.
Funeral expenses is Rs 5000
Also, the column "Employee Friendly Rating" may be either removed or rewritten because this information is required not only for employers but also for employees for whom the rating seems to be unacceptable. It is true that any amendment to Labour law will be negative to employers because these laws are made for the benefit of employees and not for employers.
