My current employer is not providing me with any proof of employment. what should i do? if i apply elsewhere how should i prove my employment status with current firm?

Letter of Appointment and up to date pay slips should be sufficient. Also give the Name and Address of the HR Dept so that the new employer can get a reference.

You can also refer to your bank statement. Usually, the payment deposited into the employee's account is processed from the company's account.

Steps to Obtain an Experience Letter

Write an email to your head asking for the experience letter. Send reminders and carry a copy of this letter for reference during the job interview. Inform them that even after reminding, they don't understand the importance of this letter. Keep a record as it would be helpful.
