Handling Labour Inspection Reports
A labour inspector visited our factory in October. At that time, HR activities were being handled by the Accounts person who was not aware of the legal requirements outlined in the act and has not yet responded to the inspection report. Fortunately, the inspector has not taken any action to date.
I have recently joined the company and now have the responsibility of managing all the requirements, from attendance to license renewal. I need to know how to respond to the inspector promptly.
Please advise.
Thank you in advance.

Has he given any inspection report? Generally, when an inspection takes place, the inspection report would be noted down in a book or document of your establishment. Thereafter, notices would be issued for non-compliance. If no such thing has happened, you are not required to give any reply.

At the time of the inspector's visit, no remark was given by the inspector because we had not maintained any inspection register. However, after a few days, he sent us copies of printed inspection remarks. Please guide.

You can send a communication to the Inspector stating that you have recently taken up the job, have reviewed the remarks, and have begun taking steps to comply with them. You can also mention that you will report compliance within a specified time and conclude by thanking him.
