Hello Seniors, What do you say is the smart way of conducting performance appraisals? What would be the best and easiest way of evaluating performance?

In my organization, my boss makes decisions based on their performance in the past few months. However, my team is asking me about the parameters used for assessing employees for salary hikes or promotions, which is currently not clear.

It is always difficult to judge employees solely based on their past work performance. There should be additional factors taken into consideration during performance appraisals. Some employees may excel, while others may not be identified for their contributions. In such situations, it becomes challenging to distinguish exceptional employees from the rest.

When I approach the team lead, there may be instances of partiality towards certain employees, which can pose a problem for others.

I am facing these issues quite frequently. Please suggest what I should do in such circumstances. How can I assist my organization in identifying the right employees for timely appraisals?
