Ask your friend to get an application form from book agents - for settlement of the PF amount. Let your friend fill up the form and go to his previous employee and request them to forward the application form to the PF authorities duly filled all the columns. Ensure that it reached the PF Commissioner office. Automatically he will get the amount settled along with the contribution from the employer.

Thank you for the prompt reply . i will ask him to do so and let you know the result . Few clarifications :
What do you mean by 'book agents' ?
How will the employer be able to track details of my friend ? he doesn't remember his employee ID or PF a/c No . I am hoping this can be done just through Name and DOB.
Will there be any resistance from the side of the employer as there is a 2 year delay in making the claim ?

Better get transfer the funds...from P ER to C ER....Form 13R
Ask yr P ER-HR for PF Number by giving yr father\'s name...
Enclose one Affidavit with F-19 & 10C if u want to withdraw...
Seems yr frnd left the cmpny with differences - it doesn\'t link with PF...still u he can get his PF Number & necessary signatures for withdrawals...
Let yr frnd post the query for better understandings...

Hi,
As you said that your friend has the relieving letter, the reliving letter should have the employee id. The prev. employer be able to track the details with the help of correct name and/or employee id and tell him the PF account number.
Ask him to download Form 19 & Form 10C from EPF website. Fill it and go to the employer (along with a cancelled cheque)and ask them to submit it to the PF commissioner office. If forms are submitted, he will get his money in 30 days or less time in his account.

Is form 10C required . My friend has work only 2 years in the mentioned company . My understanding is that pension will be applicable only after 5 years of service. So why to fill form 10C needlessly ?

Dear barathnikhil
when the employee completes 6 month of work in same organization he will be eligible for Pension plan 10c.
if employee complete 10years in PF contribution he will be eligible for PF Certificate. he can't withdrawal PF 10c when he cross 10yrs.
so that your friend has to be submit the Pension Scheme(10c) for withdraw.
