Dear friends, I quit my job in India over 2 years ago, and at that time, I had not withdrawn my PF. Now, I wish to collect it. Could you please let me know the procedure for doing so? What specific information do I need from my ex-employer? For instance, in Form 19, there were some sections related to wages (Form 3, 5, etc.). Do I need my ex-employer to provide this information?

Since I left the company 2 years ago, it has been challenging to reach the HR or accounts departments, and I am unsure about how to obtain the necessary information from them. I am in a hurry as I require this process to be completed urgently. I would highly appreciate your prompt responses.

Hi, You need to fill form 19 and 10C to withdraw your PF and hand it to your previous employer. Along with the forms you need to submit a cancelled cheque.

Hi. Ask your X-Employer to furnish form 10C & 19 and submit the same to PF department. Surely they will have. Those details are available in Form3A.

I have a friend who left his company almost 2 years ago without serving the notice period of 2 months because he had a better opportunity. The company asked him to pay the full salary for 2 months, whereas he was willing to pay the basic salary for 2 months. However, his company did not agree. Now, without the full and final settlement being complete, it has become difficult for him to approach his old employer and get the signatures done. He is listed as an absconding case in their records. Is there any way to withdraw the PF? Please suggest.

Hi Jeevarathnam,

Even in the case of a transfer, would he need the last employer's authority signature, right? He has joined a new company 1.6 years back and has a new PF account. Are there still chances of him being able to transfer his old PF? Please suggest the best feasible option in this case.

Please try to process this (Form 19.10c, 5) through your employer. If not possible, then according to EPFINDIA, it is the duty of the employer under the Act & Scheme to help the Employees' Provident Fund organization settle the Provident Fund dues of their employees. The employer must complete the prescribed application within 5 days of receipt [para 72(5)] forms and hand it over to the member when they leave the service.

Alternative Attestation Options

When a member finds it difficult to get the form attested by the employer, they can obtain the attestation of any of the following officers and send it to the Provident Fund office:

- Manager of a bank.
- Any gazetted officer.
- Member of the Central Board of Trustees/Committee/Regional Committee (Employees' Provident Fund Organization).
- Magistrate/Post/Sub Post Master/President of Village Panchayat/Notary Public.

Dear Priya, For transfer to new account he has to fill form13. in that there is no mention of previous employer signature!
