Dear Neemkala,

Good Day,

my self prabha, working as a admin cum Hr in MNC company for south reagion, even i faced this problem a lot of time on my office, finally i decide to make approval attendance for all on-roll & off-roll employees, our office time of commencem enter of work is 9:30 am, after (9:30 to 10:30) its late arrival (LOP), after 10:30 its mark as Absent, its show you concentrate your work they automatically know the hr is really strict about all this things, at every end of the month, i mark a mail to the late arrivals, ask them to send the Proper reason for why they arrive late, along with their RM Approval, in that trail mail they should mention how many days they are late, why, where they have gone.. so we ill get some clearance and proff, why they are late, and even we should speck with all Dept head, to give approval genuinely.. So its shows we are strict in Attendance duty,..(Rules is Rules - its doesn't make sound sometimes)

pls note : we are a term, who working for our company employees those who makes revenue for our organization.. we can't be strict at any time on anything..

thanks

Hi all, I have read all your valuable comments and want to give my inputs to the query.First of all, there should not be a hue and cry over the issue as it is already mentioned that the late comers are good sales personnel.I guess we should be more optimistic and explore the possibility of amending the rules to changing times.Personally, I wouldn't mind them coming late to office as they are giving me good sales(revenue and profits). As far as performance is not affected it should not be a problem but if this habit(of coming late) is affecting their performance, then we should give it a serious thought.I would suggest you to just tell them casually that they need to be on time and it should not sound as a warning as this might affect their performance. Moreover, they are fulfilling the criteria of we hiring them as they are able to give positive results and on a more practical note, what more we need?Ultimately they are an asset to the company and we cannot afford to loose such precious people.Hope this might give you a better idea.

Thanks and Regards

Hi Neemkala,
Its really essential to project flexible HR rules for motivational techniques to handle these regular problems. Yet, you need to get in an interaction one- on -one and try to know what is the reason behind it rather than being harsh to them. Such behavior is common these days and its hard to deal with until you catch the right nerve.
Good luck.
