Dear Friends,
In today's scenario, the crisis that we face is all about TIME MANAGEMENT!!! We are always in a fix to know the best utilization of our time to bring more efficiency at work.
I have attached a PPT slide of the 4 quadrants that we are in with regards to TIME MANAGEMENT.
My comments on them are as follows:
The 1st quadrant is a set of URGENT & IMPORTANT tasks. In this quadrant, a person is also under tremendous pressure and irritated. All the work is urgent and also important, so there is a possibility of errors under the pressure of completing the task.
The 2nd Quadrant is that of NON-URGENT but IMPORTANT tasks. In this quadrant, a person is at ease, relaxed, and can do the important task much more efficiently as there is no pressure and time constraint. These tasks may include routine reports, etc.
The 3rd Quadrant is a set of URGENT but NON-IMPORTANT tasks. This quadrant includes tasks that may not be important but cannot be avoided. They may cause interruptions and delays in the important task, which need to be attended to.
The 4th Quadrant is a set of NON-URGENT & NON-IMPORTANT tasks. This quadrant includes those tasks and activities that are neither relevant to the work nor important. They can indeed be called time wasters instead. They delay all your important and urgent work as you may not be able to prioritize the tasks properly.
CONCLUSION: Every person is best suited in the 2nd Quadrant, as he/she is in a relaxed state of mind and can do his job with better efficiency. He/She is not under stress, so will remain healthy also.
REFLECTION: Judge yourself and see which quadrant your activities best fit into, analyze them, so that you are the time managers and not wasters.
