Hi all,

I have an interview scheduled for an HR cum Admin position. I am currently working as an Admin Executive at IBM India Pvt Ltd. I have experience in admin but am a complete fresher in the HR field. Just to mention, I have completed my MPM but have not gained experience in the HR field. Please help me with the interview preparation, such as what types of questions the interviewer might ask. Seniors, I need your help!

Dear Kavita,

You have limited time to cover all the topics in just one sight, so please go through the books mentioned below:

1. Principles of Management: Here, you can read about what Management is and the functions of Management. For example, POSDCORB. Training & Development can be the second discussion part. As you are a fresher, and if it is a group/panel interview, you must review the Performance appraisal methods such as 360-degree feedback, Rating scale, MBO, etc.

2. Human Resource Development: In this section, you can explore Organizational Development, Organizational Change, Compensation & Benefits.

3. Labour Legislation: Here, you need to be well-prepared. Familiarize yourself with The Factories Act, 1948, Minimum Wages Act, PF & ESIC Act. If time allows, you can also review other relevant Acts. This knowledge is crucial for discussions and will be beneficial in resolving legal and labor-related issues in the future.

Hi Kavita,

There are two things that interviewers ask:

1) What you have shown in your CV, prepare that thoroughly.
2) Look over the company's profile for which post you are applying and understand how the company's HR works.

In my opinion, these are the best techniques. I am also new like you and seeking advice; please share if you have a different perspective.

Dear Ma'am,

I am Ravi Kumar, and I have an interview at Modi Pharma. I am a graduate and pursuing M.A. Eco. I have experience with RANBAXY MAXXIM outsourcing Division for Direct sales, where my job profile is Senior Administrative Executive. In that division, approximately 80 TE/TM (Treaty Executive, Manager) are working.
