Hello everyone,
I would just like to say hello to everyone. I have joined about two months ago, reading, browsing, feeling a bit shy, so I just felt comfortable in my shell to say hello all the way from Trinidad and Tobago in the Caribbean.
I am a senior manager in a bedding company and in charge of human resources and marketing. This site has been a great resource tool for me, and I commend all the persons who have taken the time to contribute. I have learned a lot here about human resources, and it has helped me to be a more effective manager.
Have a great day, everyone!

Hi Judith,
Nice to meet someone away from India too on this forum. If you could please take out some of your time and answer the questions, it would be of great help to all of us.
1. Does your job entail dealing with international HRM, such as handling expatriates and related matters?
2. Could you also help me with the career path involved in international HRM and the prospects for an Indian like me in that field?
By the way, I am Avinash, currently a summer trainee at a Tata Group company, India's most reputed corporate house.

Thank you very much for your kind sentiments Sonit and Avinash.
In answer to your questions, Avinash:
1. Does your job entail dealing with international HRM? For example, handling expatriates and related matters? My job is more focused on the domestic front. I worked at a bedding company that is involved in manufacturing, distributing, retailing, and exporting. The human resources aspect is primarily focused on domestic operations.
2. Could you also provide insights into the career path involved in international HRM and the prospects for an Indian like me in that field? I can always share my thoughts on what happens in my country, but I am not an expert. My expertise lies more in marketing. Human resources became part of my new responsibilities, and I have embraced the opportunity. If you need any information about my country, I would be happy to assist. We have many doctors from India currently assigned here. Recently, your country had a successful trade show, as it has for the past seven years. Our countries share close business ties. However, there doesn't seem to be many international HRM specialists here. It might be a good idea to reach out to your country's representative for my country; they may be aware of opportunities sooner than I would.
Feel free to message me if you wish, although this is only my second post. So, you may need to continue the conversation here until I can respond via private message. I believe I need seven or ten postings before I can use private messaging.
I will do my best to assist you as much as possible.
Have a great day.
