ESI was originally applied to non-seasonal industries, but later on, they were also brought under the coverage of the ESI Act. Now, the scheme has been extended to many sectors, including the service sector.

Dear Christina,

ESIC is applicable to factories as well as offices. You can find the details in the schedule. ESIC specifies the salary limit (i.e., up to 10k) for the coverage of employees. Hence, it covers all employees up to the given limit.
