Hi,

As of now, I have been offered the position of Manager Marketing (M3 grade) in a 150 crore business concern, and I have accepted the offer. However, I had requested a CTC of 4.5 lakh, but the General Manager in charge is not agreeing to this and is proposing a CTC based on 3% of the turnover. I have 7 years of experience in marketing and will be responsible for the South region as a manager without any subordinates reporting to me. Please advise me on the best lower offer based on current standards as I need to finalize my offer promptly.

I am uncertain if Traveling Expenses will be included in the CTC or not.

Dear Mugundhan.S,

Even Rs. 4.5 Lakh is quite low if your experience is 7 years. Well, it all depends on your qualifications. I will be able to guide you more if you can provide a brief about your qualifications.

Hi,

I think instead of CTC as a whole, you should quote an in-hand salary that you would be expecting. This would give you a clearer picture as a company can put a lot of things in a CTC. A 4.5 lac CTC can get you 25 thousand in hand as well as 30 thousand; thus, you must stress on in-hand.

As you have worked earlier, you should expect a minimum of 25% raise over your last job.

Regards,
Prabha
