I am working for a company. I have PF accounts with two of my earlier companies. I want to transfer them to my current employer. Is there a consultant or service that can help me get the forms signed by my previous employers and submit them to the PF office? There is a substantial amount sitting in two of the accounts. I work in Hyderabad, and both the previous companies are also located in Hyderabad.

Hi,

You don't need to seek any help from any kind of agency or consultancy; you just need to speak with your present employer's HR official. They will guide you with the best and easiest options. You just need to spare some time for this task and can also contact your previous employer with your employment details to request them to share the required information with you.

Try this approach first and let us know what you want further.

Current employer asked me to go to my previous employer and get the forms signed. This task often results in 1-2 visits to my previous employer and requires me to set aside 3-4 of my leaves. Hence, I am asking if there is anyone who can do it on my behalf.

Dear SOUMYAKANDIMALLA2017,

Even if you engage a consultant, you still need to obtain the signatures of both your previous employers to complete the process. It is advisable to personally go and get the signatures since both employers are located in Hyderabad. You can do this by taking a day off or seeking permission as recommended by Mr. Anil Arora. The two accounts can be consolidated with your current account, and the accumulated amount transferred accordingly.

I left my job in November 2012, but still, my PF has not been withdrawn because my employer doesn't support. My UAN profile is incomplete, and Aadhaar and PAN card details have not been uploaded because my name, gender, and date of birth were not filled in by the employer. What can I do? Is there any offline method to initiate the withdrawal process without involving the employer?

I'm from M.P. District - Ujjain Place - Nagda Junction.

Dear Anonymous,

Please fill out your PF Form No. 19 and 10C, along with the mutual declaration form and Form 5. Write a covering letter in the name of the PF Commissioner and send it to the PF Commissioner by registered post.

Thank you.

Hi,

My ex-employer refuses to sign my PF withdrawal form. I emailed my ex-employer asking for their signature on my PF withdrawal form, but they replied that there are many issues pending with me that need to be resolved. However, I left this company 1.5 years ago and completed all exit formalities, including serving the proper notice period as per the terms of my employment. They also provided me with a relieving letter. My KYC is not updated and verified by this employer. Please guide me on how I can withdraw my PF as I worked there for 3 years.

Regards,
Santosh

EPFO's New PF Transfer Process

Now, EPFO has made transferring PF balance from one employer to another employer easy. The funds will now be automatically transferred when an employee changes jobs. All you have to do is submit the newly introduced Form-11 duly filled to the new employer. In turn, the new employer has to upload Form-11, and after verification of details, the transfer process will be initiated. The employee will also receive an SMS on their registered mobile. After sending the SMS, EPFO will wait for ten days to commence the process to ensure the employee has not requested to stop the transfer. The employee does not need to personally visit the previous employers.

Eligibility and Requirements

However, this process is available to those who have a UAN introduced after 2014, which contains Aadhar details. If the mobile number given in Aadhar and the present one differ, then the same has to be changed using the UIDAI portal. If an employee does not have a UAN and/or is not Aadhar seeded and verified by the previous employer, EPFO rejects the transfer request. Online transfer is also not possible if the employer does not have a digital signature.

Recent Guidelines

As per recent guidelines from EPFO, auto transfer of PF while changing jobs will be entertained only after the first payment of the new employment is received against the UAN flagged for such transfer. It is also necessary that the UAN of the member is activated, Aadhar seeded, and verified by the previous employer.

Thank you,
Sreedhara Murthy
