Sir,
I am in XYZ Co., and my P.F. account is opened in this company, and UAN number is also generated. After 2 years, I resigned from this company and withdrew my total P.F. balance. I joined the new ABC Co., and in this new company, my P.F. account is newly opened. Now, is this newly opened account linked with the UAN of XYZ Co., or will a new UAN be generated again?
PLEASE GUIDE SIR..........
Thank you.

UAN will remain same, fill the same in form 11 with old company details and date of leaving, new employer will seed the old UAN in current account
Kindly clarify in case a member has two UANs: one created by the old employer and the other created by the present employer. After withdrawing the amount from the old UAN, is the old UAN still valid? If you have any notifications regarding this matter, please provide them to us.

If the employee has withdrawn the EPF from the old account and did not produce the old UAN to the present employer for seeding, then what is the meaning or utility of linking both?
In case the employee has some balance in the old UAN, then the employee has to file a transfer claim (Form 13). The department will transfer the old balance to the newly generated UAN and will close the old UAN.

Dear Sharmaji,
Thank you for your reply. Can you explain more regarding the double UAN as our principal employer is insisting on linking it with the old UAN even after some employees have withdrawn their PF amount? Is there any rule or notification stating that after withdrawing the PF amount from the old UAN, its validity is nil?
Kindly help.

Two questions are mixed up:
1) A fresh generation of UAN. If there is any existing UAN, even if funds have been withdrawn, it should be offered for seeding with new employment. This will add the contributory "time span" to the member for the pension scheme.
2) If two UANs are already generated, then file a transfer claim from the old to the new. This will close the old UAN. Please go through the notification at http://www.epfindia.com/site_docs/PD...UANs_16046.pdf.
