Dear Sir,
In our organization, one manager joined 6 months ago, and his UAN number was generated by our team. However, he did not inform us that he already had a UAN generated in his previous organization. Now, he is saying that he wants to transfer his PF. How can we transfer his PF when he has two UANs?
Please explain.

Hi Rupali,
Going through the provisions of the latest regulations regarding UAN, only one UAN is valid for one member id. In your case, you need to link the old UAN of the member to the current member id and surrender the duplicate UAN issued by EPFO in your company. You can apply for the transfer of PF accumulations based on the old UAN.

UAN Number Guidelines and Form 11 Implementation
Only one UAN number shall be provided to a member in his/her lifetime. In our company, we faced a similar issue with our new Plant Head for another reason. Please be advised that you should link member IDs against the UAN that has already been generated against the previous member ID.
Steps to Avoid Future UAN Issues
After successful ECR submission and remittance of the same in the bank, the list of employees without a UAN in that ECR will be available in the 'Confirm Previous Employment' link. This is for either declaring previous employment details or fresh employment based on Form 11 by the new member. Form 11 allows the employer to confirm previous employment for recurring/subsequent UAN generation/linking, as declared by the employee. (PFA)
Benefits of Using Form 11
Kindly make it a practice to ask all new employees to fill Form 11, or you may add Form 11 under the joining formalities of your organization. One last thing I would like to add is that Form 11 (Declaration Form) will also replace Form 13 (Funds Transfer Form) in all such cases where existing members of the PF make a request to transfer their funds, availing the facility of UAN.
Hope this helped. Other inputs/corrections are welcomed and appreciated in advance.

One employee joined your organization on 01-09-2014, but his UAN number has not been generated yet. As a result, we have not uploaded his KYC. The employee has since left the service and is now requesting the withdrawal of EPF.
What should we do in this case? Kindly suggest.

You did not mention the date of leaving. Now that leads us to two scenarios.
1st Scenario: Employee Resigned Less Than 6 Months of Service
In this case, the employee will only be able to withdraw their PF and not the Pension, as a minimum of 10 years of service is required for a pension. If the service is less than 10 years, a one-time withdrawal benefit can be claimed, subject to a minimum service of 6 months.
2nd Scenario: Employee Resigned After 6 Months of Service
In this case, the employee shall be able to withdraw both PF and Pension.
Below are the areas you should consider:
• Member needs to wait for 60 days before submitting the claim. (That means you still have time, don't you?)
• UAN number can only be generated for new members when we furnish the data on the portal, i.e., new joinee or existing member in PF. (Have you done so for all new employees?)
• You can reach out to your Regional EPFO office if UAN is really not generated for a particular member/s. They shall be able to guide you.
Hope this answers your issue.

I am handling two jobs at one time in different shifts. My two employers don't know; now I am working in another company in a different shift. My UAN number was generated by the first employer, but the second employer has not generated a UAN number. What will happen if he generates a UAN number? My two different employers do not allow handling two jobs at one time. They can track my job history through the UAN number. What action will be taken if they find out? Will they terminate me? Please help me and provide your mobile number.

Madhuri Mam,
There is no way to escape from your employer because the UAN number is generated only once in a lifetime, and the same number is used in all organizations.
I also request seniors to kindly suggest.

For our one employee, we were not able to create UAN due to some DSC issue. PF was deducted for two months. Now, he has left the organization and joined somewhere else, and his UAN is created over there. Now, what should we do for this case on confirming previous employment? If we tag it with his UAN generated in the new organization, then it asks to enter the Date of Employment (DOE) also, but he is working there only. Kindly suggest.

I have a very complex situation. Initially, I was working in Company A; they gave me both PF and UAN. Then I joined my new company, Company B, and they provided me with a separate PF and UAN. Now, I have left the second company and joined a third company, Company C. In the third company, I linked the PF of Company C to the PF of Company A using Company A's UAN.
Best Solution for Managing Multiple UANs
Now, my question is: what would be the best solution for me? Should I withdraw the amount from Company B (Company B is not cooperating as I left without serving the notice period)? Or should I get it transferred, and if yes, what is the procedure for linking the two UAN accounts that I have?
Thank you.

I had my previous company PF number and UAN number. After that, I joined a new company and provided my old PF number and UAN number, but they created a new PF account and a new UAN number. Now, if I open my previous PF account, it shows both my current and old company names. I want to know if both of my accounts are merged. I told my current company's HR, and they suggested, "You will have to go to the online UAN Helpdesk and put a grievance, which will be answered by their Head office in New Delhi," but it didn't work. I even emailed EPFO, but they didn't reply. Please, sir, provide a helpful suggestion as I want to merge both account balances. Awaiting your response. Thank you.

Hi, sir, ma'am,
I'm just joining a new organization this month, and I left my old job last month as well. I have given my UAN to the new organization. Can I now access my PF after 45 days from the date of leaving the old organization? I urgently need my PF. Is there any way for me to stop the transfer of my UAN to the new organization until I receive my PF?

Hello,
I have two UANs, but I have transferred my PF online from the first account to the second account. I understand that one UAN should be used throughout one's life. However, if an employee does not provide the old UAN, a new UAN is generated, which is not a concern. The old UAN is only required for previous employment verification. PF transfer can be completed using the new UAN, as I have done it.

Please go through this site and have all accounts merged into a single UAN, whichever you want to keep. Visit [One Employee One PF](http://oeoea.epfoservices.com/UANDEDUP/) for more information.

@bharati, please ask the employee to activate the new UAN and file the transfer claim through the portal (after 3-4 days of activation). You can access the portal here: [One Employee One PF](http://oeoea.epfoservices.com/UANDEDUP/)
By mistake, UAN active members' details were again entered and approved in the unified e-sewa of EPF. This will generate another UAN number for the same member. In this situation, how can the new UAN number be deactivated or deleted? Please provide a solution.

Sir, I have two UAN numbers. One was generated by my old company, and now the second one was generated by my new company. Four months of PF have been deposited in the new UAN number. I have provided my old UAN number to my new company. I want to inquire about the status of my PF for the past four months. Can it be transferred to my old UAN, or have I lost the PF amount? Sir, please help me if there is any way to safeguard my four months of PF.

submit form 13 for transfer of new UAN to old UAN, and ask the employer to keep the old UAN in force,
As per my knowledge, transferring PF funds from a new UAN to an old UAN is not possible. Instead, funds from the old UAN should be transferred to the new UAN. Currently, the portal is facing some issues, so it's better to manually send the transfer form to process the transfer. I have been facing such an issue; I can't merge the old UAN funds with the new UAN online. Is there any other way to resolve this? Please confirm here.
Actually, the employee's PF portal is not working; it's showing "invalid credentials," even though I can log in with that UAN on the member portal.
