Dear seniors,

I have recruited a handicapped employee in my company recently. Now, I have doubts about the EPF and ESI contributions. Specifically, I am unsure about their contribution details. I have searched through this site, but some points remain unclear, so I need the following clarifications:

1. Notification regarding the contributions under the EPF and ESI Scheme.
2. What is the ceiling for their contributions under both schemes?
3. Exemption periods and employer responsibilities.
4. Percentage of handicapped employees required.
5. Can an already ESI-covered person also be exempted from employer contributions?

Please assist me in clarifying these points.

Sir,

Please confirm whether the said disabled employee your unit employed is a person with a disability under the Persons with Disabilities (Equal Opportunities Protection of Rights and Full Participation) Act, 1995, and under the National Trust for Welfare of Persons with Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Mental Retardation, and Multiple Disabilities Act, 1999.

If so, have you or your establishment verified the certificate of such disability issued by the competent authority under the above enactments.
